Yvonne De Carlo: Im Still Here Video

All credits go to their respective owners.
One of classic Hollywood's most beautiful stars, Yvonne De Carlo (1922-2007) made a career in film, television and stage. Born of Sicilian and Scottish heritage (almost like someone we know!), Yvonne's striking looks made her perfect to play exotic roles. Her most famous movies include Salome Where She Danced, Criss Cross, The Ten Commandments, and Band of Angels. She was also famous for playing Lily Munster on television and singing "I'm Still Here" in Stephen Sondheim's Follies on Broadway. I know I don't play her song here, but it seems to be fit to use "I'm Still Here" in the title as it befits her career and struggles. Yvonne persevered through adversities as her father left her teenage mother when she was young, she had to dance to help her mother and she kept working in film and then television as her stuntman husband become permanently disabled. Yvonne fought through life's adversities including debt and depression to remain a fixture in our hearts. She kept her love for life and sense of humor as she relished starring in The Munsters and so popular she was always as she had affairs with many including Prince Aly Khan, Billy Wilder, Burt Lancaster, Howard Hughes, Robert Stack and Robert Taylor.

I apologize for some mediocre quality of clips since it's hard to find her movies on DVD although I searched wide and far. Some are only DVD transfers from VHS videos. To digitally restore many of her movies would give justice to remembering her beauty. It was easy to fall in love with her while making this video (I had to do the personal watermark). I hope her beauty is reflected by this video since there are few movie tributes of her on youtube. Her films here include:

Road to Morocco (1942)
Salome Where She Danced (1945)
Brute Force (1947)
Slave Girl (1947)
River Lady (1948)
Criss Cross (1949)
Desert Hawk (1950)
Hurricane Smith (1952)
Sombrero (1953)
The Ten Commandments (1956)
Band of Angels (1957)
Timbuktu (1959)
McLintock! (1963)

Music includes Alan Silvestri's Forrest Gump and two selections from Immediate Music: Belle Vie and Stolen Moment.

This moment is dedicated to Yvonne and my friend Claudia.
